Our watches are designed to give back more than we take: every sale is used to support selected environmental initiatives to leave no carbon path.
Vekja was born out of our determination to turn the fashion industry around, so that it could actively contribute to preserving our planet Earth.
Part II: The mystical power of the runes
To write a rune is to invoke the magical significance for which it stands
Each of our watches is engraved with a single rune from the Elder Futhark
An alphabet composed of centuries-old symbols of mystical power.
To write a rune is to invoke the magical significance for which it stands: wear one on your wrist and let its powers guide you through life.
Find the watch that matches your personality and aspirations and take control of your fate.
Part III: The rune called Raidho
A lifestyle marked by physical
and spiritual travel
Its design is characterised by a Swedish maple and copper details, and the shape of its dial is inspired by that of a guiding compass.
Our watch is sturdy and versatile, along with a cork-leather interchangeable bracelet and a sapphire glass 10ATM waterproofing. It is ready to adapt to the many changes that will punctuate the life of its owner, always in pursuit of broader horizons.
Wood, our central element, reminds us of our connection to Scandinavia’s dense and wild forests, where the magic of the runes originates.
The Swedish Maple is used for our watch face and comes directly from an FCS forest in Vlïtjk in the north of Sweden.
Like every composant our ingraving have meaning
The 9 circles represent the 9 realms of the nordic mythology.
They all stand and are connected by Yggdrasil (The World Tree)
The watch depicts a story of the “Havamal”, where Odin traveled from Asgard (The realm of the gods at the very top), to go at the roots of Yggdrasil where he awakened to the galdr (runecasting knowledge).
Part IV: The heart of the watch
Premium and casual
The two movements of Raidho
The premium has in its heart an automatic movement from the renown brand Seiko: the NH38
These two Japanese brands, despite being far away, are the only movement manufacturers with a true eco-conscious process and aim for longitivtiy.
Which fitted better to our values than Swiss brands who won't give any information about the provenance of their materials and parts. You can learn more about Seiko's & Miyota's commitment here
Part V: The Vision that started it all
We believe that beautiful, unique accessories can be made ethically and sustainably while remaining affordable.
We make our production process a personal affair: be it brainstorming, sketching prototypes, or meeting with artisans, we are present every step of the way.
Sharing the same passion for the soul of the North, we are two best friends designer from Belgium and Switzerland.
We want to create a new generation of elegant and eco-conscious consumers by offering them a range of products that stand out not only because of their beauty, but also because of their meaning.
Our aim? Grow, not for growth but to grow awareness for our cause and achieve a long-lasting impact.
Part VI: The end and a new beggining
Why Vekja is no longer alive ?
&
What is coming ?
Driven by this project, we got into many different topics that aligned with our vision. From eco-production to slow fashion, alternative production and consumption ways. After those months passed and enriched by this new knowledge, we realised taht we were no longer aligned with our initial plan. Indeed, it appeared to us that VEKJA was too much rooted into capitalism, which is the origin of the decline of our environment.
In the beginning we wanted to include ourselves in that system to change things from the inside. The watch collection would have been put on the market following its capitalist laws but the money then raised would have served environmental issues. We rapidly came to the conclusion: We were restrained in our will for innovation and our capacity to have real impact through this indirect method.

We rapidly came to the conclusion: We were restrained in our will for innovation and our capacity to have real impact through this indirect method.
This is the reason why we decided to put an end to our project VEKJA, to be able to focus on a more effective, direct and innovative way to preserve the environment.

Neither are we blaming those who bought à 27th T-Shirt or a watch in the past year. (We did too)
Vekja has been a very rewarding journey. It opened our eyes to the ethical industry and to redirect towards a project more aligned with our values, skills and desires. We are very grateful and are, in fact, keen on launching a new project to pursue our will of protection of the environment.
It is why we created The fire camp effect, a platform/core project where you'll be able to follow our progress as an ethical entrepreneurs duo through articles, videos & podcasts containing our research, projects and sharing our experiences.
If, you too, you feel like it our duty to act for the good of the planet but it seems too complex to take action by yourself, we invite you to join us on this path of reflexion with us !
